Face your phobias

A phobia is defined as a psychological disorder an intense, internal, often irrational fear that every one of us has inside themselves, in one way or another.

For example, spiders are humanity’s most common fear. We know it may sound like a cliché, but in order to triumph over your phobias, you need to face them. It’s not something you do “cold turkey”, but gradually, and for that you need courage and support.

First, make a list of your phobias, starting from the weakest (in intensity) and ending with the strongest ones. Don’t forget to include things like “afraid to end up alone” etc, because those are types of phobias, as well.

Slowly, with the help of your friends, family and/or therapy, face your fears. Become their master. Attack the phobias from your list one by one and tell them “I’m not afraid of you anymore”. Start from the weaker ones, and you will build the courage necessary to face your biggest fears.
